Create distance
Begin with fictional characters and situations. Make clear that pupils may pass and are not expected to disclose.
Teach choice and coercion
Focus on whether a person is genuinely free to say yes or no, including emotional and psychological pressure.
Avoid stereotypes
Do not frame forced marriage as belonging to a single religion, culture or country.
Teach safe help-seeking
Friends listen and involve an appropriate adult; they do not investigate, confront families or promise secrecy.
